Derek, In reading this editorial I`am left with the understanding that Rockwell has incorporated two disimiliar technologies i.e Rockwells and Lucents "personalities" into a non-software upgradeable chip. IF this is the case doesn`t this leave USRX with proprietary technology. That being; the only software upgradeable technology. I am always impressed by the word "proprietary" ,in my book it means only or monopoly. Intel and MSFT have proprietary technologies ,.can we not put the Robot in this camp?This 56 war seems to be do or die for Rockwell/Lucent. The Robot can migrate to the new standard via software the others via a more expensive hardware upgrade. Just how important is this as time goes on? Comments please. p"
