USA Video Interactive Offers Columbine Benefit PSA Video Free to Other Websites
Pax TV First to Sign On
MYSTIC, Connecticut, April 20, 2000 - USA Video Interactive (OTCBB: USVOE; CDNX: US; www.usvo.com) has digitized and prepared for Internet broadcast a public service video produced by the Lullaby for Columbine project (www.columbinecd.com ), a nonprofit organization formed to help the victims and families of the tragic shooting nearly a year ago at Columbine High School in Colorado. USA Video Interactive is offering to establish hyperlinks to its servers hosting the video or to provide CDs with the encoded video for inclusion on the websites of its partners and others interested in helping this worthy cause.
Pax TV is the first to sign on for the video PSA, which can be accessed from the Pax website (www.paxtv.com). Pax TV in Colorado already is televising the PSA but this helps make the project accessible to a national and international audience.
"We at PAX TV are hopeful that this effort will be of some assistance to the families impacted by the Columbine tragedy," said Karsten Amlie, President, PAX Internet, Inc.
The PSA describes Lullaby for Columbine: Love Endures, the compilation CD project whose proceeds go to the victims of the Columbine tragedy, and provides links for viewers to purchase the CD or poster, or to directly make a contribution to the project. USA Video Interactive last month provided a grant to the project to help them produce the CDs and undertake a national distribution. All Musicland outlets across the United States are carrying the CD, and it also is available through Amazon.com. All proceeds of the $11.95 compilation CD go to the Friend of Mine Fund to support the families and to stop school violence.
No special downloads or plug-ins are required to view the Internet videos.
"We are pleased to support this effort, both to help those who suffer because of this tragedy and to foster an atmosphere free of violence," said Edwin Molina, President of USA Video Interactive.
The CD, which retails for $11.95 and the poster for $20.00, is available at all Musicland stores nationwide, or by visiting www.Columbinecd.com. Artist tracks include such national and local artists as Adrian Belew, Rick Altizer, The Cohen brothers, and students from Littleton and Arapahoe high schools.
All proceeds go to the Friend of Mine Fund, a 501(c)3 established by the producer of the Cohen brother's song, Jason Hickman. Poster art has been donated by Star Wars artist Drew Struzan.
