TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 2000--Chronicle Communications, Inc. (OTCBB:CRNC), (http://www.stampedeinc.com) today, April 20, 2000, announced it has changed its name to Stampede WorldWide, Inc.
Chronicle Communications, Inc. began operations on April 5, 1996, as a small publisher of hometown shopper style newspapers. Today, the Company has operating subsidiaries engaged in the business of web offset printing, Internet hosting and web development, Cold Fusion programming, computer hardware and software sales and service, and specialty publishing.
"The Company has matured and built its business model for today's business to business, Internet savvy customer. The Chronicle name was just too old fashion for the Company's aggressive direction and technology based businesses. We needed a name that would assert action, movement, aggressiveness, power and speed. Stampede WorldWide, Inc., when coupled with our new corporate identity program, is an exciting change to our powerful business model," said John V. Whitman Jr. CEO/Chairman.
In addition to the corporate name change, the Company has merged its recent ETA Internet Solutions acquisition into a new operating subsidiary named Stampede Network.Com, Inc. stampedenetwork.com Beginning the first week of May 2000, an aggressive advertising program begins in the Tampa Bay market which will promote Stampede Network. This subsidiary is engaged in the business of Internet Development, Cold Fusion Programming, and is certified? in numerous software applications.
The business of the Company's Americomp Computer subsidiary, formerly based in Houston, Texas, has been moved into a new subsidiary named SpiderScape.Com, Inc. spiderscape.com. SpiderScape serves as the Company's computer software and hardware sales and service subsidiary. In late summer 2000, the Company plans to launch a monthly sales catalog that will be direct mailed to our database of customers and potential new customers free of charge.
The Stampede Network staff is in the process of writing the SpiderScape E-commerce web site software code. Once completed, the site will not attempt to compete in the razor thin margins of exclusively online "e-tailers". SpiderScape's image is more in-line with Sharper-Image or Brookstones. The custom Internet integration solutions of Stampede Network will be heavily advertised in the SpiderScape catalog. "Our SpiderScape catalog combined with the introduction of our new e-commerce web site will be a powerful one-two punch in the marketing of our Internet integration services, software and hardware subsidiaries," said John V. Whitman, Jr.
The Company's commercial web printing subsidiary has been changed to Chronicle Commercial Printing, Inc. and will retain its parent company's Internet address chronicleinc.com. "With our recent investment in new state of the art printing equipment and our ever expanding customer base, the Commercial Printing subsidiary brings a stable cash flow to our business," said John V. Whitman.
