I am not convinced that a fabless house can compete with Intel and AMD in the forseeable future, especially the house is rooted in a traditional Chinese conglomerate. I posted several months ago (when VIA purchased Cyrix)that VIA will never be a serious threat to the core business of Intel and AMD unless they screw up themselves.

My take of this VIA's new wonder is that VIA wants a most cost effective platform to pick up some crumbs that Intel and AMD leave.

Just my 2 cents.
