What is holding back ANTC's price is its relative poor sales and gross margin performance in a booming industry.

Antec's sales are beginning to flatten. Antec has not recently exhibited great growth for a tech company in a booming industry. Look at their sequential sales over the past 3 quarters (not year over year sales) for a true indication of growth:

Sales Q3 1999: $237M....Gross Margin: 21.1%
Sales Q4 1999: $248M....Gross Margin: --
Sales Q1 2000: $250M....Gross Margin: 20.5%

Yawn. Their gross margin continues to fall and not rise even after the write-down taken in Q4. I believe ANTC will need to take additional and substantial restructuring charges to improve its gross margin going forward.

What astonishes me is that analysts and investors were complaining about TLABs gross margin being in the low 50s for their past quarter! Perhaps they should take a look around at other companies like ANTC to gain a little perspective.
