Ted, <What is going on in your place of employment that these things like poor planning are allowed when Intel has had a reputation for manufacturing prowess?>

I really don't know the story behind the alleged "poor planning," if it should even be called that by anyone besides AMD cheerleaders. I'm sure the downturn in semiconductors back in 1998 had an effect on Intel's misprediction of demand.

<I believe you zeroed in on one of the least important of his comments>

Why should his price target be so unimportant? The guy just downgraded INTC from "hold" to "avoid." Obviously he thinks the price of INTC will drop like a rock. And obviously that worries me, since I might have a handful of INTC shares and options.

If his reason for the downgrade is the notion that Intel is now being run by a bunch of buffoons (please, all you in the peanut gallery, no smart-alec comments), then I'd like to hear it. But I don't think an understandable misprediction of demand should be the sole reason for such a downgrade.
