If you had subscribed when the Letter was launched in the Fall of 1996 (for your information, I did subscribe), perhaps you would have had your interest "tweaked" in an unknown company called QCOM. My interest was tweaked, so much so that I bought all of the QCOM that I could afford. My average cost per share, based on the two splits since then, is $6.48 per share. And I own more shares than I am willing to tell you about. Needless to say, Gilder made me one of those characters now referred to as "quillionaires", along with many others who I was fortunate enough to meet at the March 7 QCOM annual meeting.
And then, after QCOM, there was JDSU, AMCC, BRCM, NT, GLW,, GBLX, NOPT, to mention only a few of Gilder's "losers".
So, who am I to believe in. You or George Gilder? Do you have the information to make me or yourself a millionaire? |
