2nd Press Release

London 5th April 2000

AMZIM Minerals Ltd, the Holding Company of Bikita Minerals(Pvt) Ltd, Zimbabwe and Emerald Fields Resource Corporation, of Canada have concluded an agreement which will lead to the development of the high grade petalite deposits owned by Emerald Fields Resource Corporation at Kenora, Ontario.

Bikita is the largest producer of petalite in the world, and the agreement specifies that Bikita will assist and support Emerald in the evaluation of the products to be produced by Emerald, as well as giving Emerald access to the proven low cost production technologies employed by Bikita.

In return, the agreement envisages that Amzim and Emerald will establish a joing marketing Company to optimize the eventual sales of Emerald products in the specialized markets which Bikita has established over the years, together with sales into the new markets which will be developed by the joint venture. Amzim Minerals Ltd has secured options on participating in the equity of Emerald Fields, once mine development is underway.

This agreement coincides with the conclusion of a contract between Bikita Minerals and World Kitchen Inc(WKI, formerly Corning Consumer Products) in the USA, whereby Bikita will be the sole supplier of petalite to WKI for its Martinsburg operations, the largest single consumer of lithium minerals in the world, for a period of three years, commencing 1st March 2000, with a mutual option to renew for a further period of three years.
