You probably did not write this message for me,
but I'll write a short response.

First of all, please don't be offended by reference to
"Wag the Dog" - I did not want to imply that the
protesters were insincere. Maybe they were a little
hot-headed, but the situation is emotionally charged,
so level-headedness can't be expected.

The issues you raise are not easily solved, and I certainly
have no answers. Personally, I'm mostly
on laissez-faire side, which favors businesses.
But I'm not ignorant that businesses can be predators
that level everything on their way, so some control
should exist.

It's interesting to see whether Heinlein-suggested
future of mega-company states coexisting with
national states will happen. E.g. IBM waging a war
against Kenya... ;-)
