Anyone know anything about this technology ? "According to George Hunt with Wachovia Securities, Cisco has "moved aggressively in wireless technology in the past two years" including its JV with Motorolo last November to invest $2 billion in the Local Multipoint Distribution Services (LMDS). Last year, Cisco said they would work to come to an industry standard for sending internet data over microwave frequencies (MMDS) which never caught on. Now, Cisco predicts customers will be able to buy broadband wireless "transceivers" for less than $500 which would permit them to receive data at a "connection speed 100 times faster than techonologies dependent on fiber-optic cable or copper telephone line", such as DSL."
