Steven, you know as well as I do that analyzing that issue in a one dimensional linear way such as that, can lead to all kinds of false assumptions.

There are many causal feedback loops endemic only to the Netherlands which could be effecting those statistics. (accepting the fact they're accurate) Many of which (I am fairly certain) involve sociological conditions found only in the Netherlands.

I honestly haven't a clue what they might be, but I would venture a theory that one might be many of the residence live in small towns where their neighbors keep a close eye on one anothers children. Another could be that children aren't exposed to sexually permissive films in the same way American children are. But these are just theories, and it would take careful study and analysis to determine whether they could have a bearing on the statistics.

I would also wonder specifically what the term "abortion is freely available on demand really means. Does it include abortions in the third trimester?

It would be interesting to see if a more detailed study exists on the matter. It would also be helpful if you including a link with that short paragraph.
