"A lot of fear out there"? Well, one of my co-workers spoke about his friend who trades stocks on margin. The guy didn't get a margin call in the recent plunge, but during the decline, he has increased his margin exposure. My co-worker remarked, "Smart, huh?". And most of the others were nodding their heads... My feeling is that some people might have got thrashed and are now silently licking their wounds, but a lot of the others have gotten in on the act now. There is so much complacency that it is impossible to believe that there was a 35% decline in the Nasdaq just a week ago. Maybe we will see a series of failing rallies and in each of those, we will see a fresh batch of people getting their heads handed to them. And after 3 or 4 such occurrences, we will probably see a bottom. And that will be some kind of justice, I guess, with almost every careless "investor" getting what they really deserve.
