Nigerian CEO favors CDMA, will CDMA get a break in Africa. I doubt it.

The President/Chief Executive Officer of Intercellular Nigeria Limited, Mallam Bashir El-Rufai
has said that government has no business dictating the kind of technology to be adopted in the development of the telecommunications sector.

He told THISDAY Editors that whichever technology is used whether it is (Global satellite for Mobile Telecommunications (GSM) or code division Multiple Access (CDMA) should be the decision of the operators. Said he "government has no business dictating whether it is GSM or CDMA or anything. It is a business decision that should be left to the companies to decide."
Later in the article - " El-Rufai who preferred the use of CDMA technology in the new technological age said that his company Intercellular would further slash the cost of its lines to about N50,000 per line in the nest four months.
