I love nothing about AOL's service. But in my few years on this planet I have earned enough money to be able to afford more than one isp.

Your assumptions reflect a narrow view but I can overlook that.

I will however indulge myself and state that I my distaste for AOL (the service) probably exceeds your's. But then you never asked me what my opinion of AOL was.

Because I was attempting to present an objective list of what "people" like about AOL, you assume for some reason that eludes me, that I hate your way of life or your mother or something. I use AOL as a tool, just like a hammer.

And I will also state that I have made a lot of money recognizing that people do like AOL by the millions. I have never felt in any way though that AOL threatened my lifestyle, religious beliefs, or my soul. And I would never sign up for ATHM just to piss of some network circuit or modem over at AOL. I know that these electronic circuits can be a little quirky at times but they will probably overlook your emotional outbursts too.

What I do love about AOL is their ability to attract one fifth of the computing population and make a buck doing it. I also think that it is an irony that a little Mac BBS from podunk can grow into a behemoth among behemoths, buy brick and mortar media giants and be able to piss you off, all at the same time.

I have more than one magazine on my coffee table and drive more than one car. I own a Macintosh but I am also the founder of Windows Magazine.

You are taking stocks to a personal level. We are talking here about investments, not your personal philosophy or sophistry of idealism or a utopian society. This is about making money on the purchase and resale of securities and no more.

Don't buy shares of ATHM because you hate AOL. Buy them because you think you can make a buck!

Thank you for your clairvoyance, your objectivity, and your articulate utterances. I'll be here should you need to discuss AOL again. You know how to find me!

By the way, it's time to back-up the truck!
