Okay maybe I am as dum as I look after all. Hey, no agreeing!

Let's say I'm selling calls. If I place a market order, and somone has underbid the market maker, the mm's bid is still the highest, won't I get that? And if someone has overbid the mm I'll get that. How can I get less than the bid unless it changes rapidly? Don't they have to buy or sell ten contracts at the bid ask prices? Or have I answered my own question? Is it about the fast moving market wherein they do fill orders for ten contracts and someone else's standing order remains?

I'm confused.
