Glenn, Im'm sorry, but you shoulda posted that on the Myth thread -- that's what it is.

You undoubtedly are referring to the "tech" revolution. Unfortunately, we don't eat, ride to work or sleep inside a data store. Furthermore, the computer industry including software does not overall make up a very large portion of GDP.

Energy is in everything that is manufactured and many things that are not -- there haven't been any huge changes here ... efficieny gains are happening over time, but they are not related to the numbers that you see in productivity (those aren't related to productivity either --they are whatever the government statisticians want them to be).
