IF AMD continues to execute well throughout this year and beyond, and demand continues to outstrip supply even as Dresden ramps all the way up,and AMD retires a lot of debt and is sitting on cash, would it be time to start thinking about a new fab?
I know there wont be any need for awile but I am talking about looking at the question from the perspective of a year from now, if AMD does very well in that year, and takeing into consideration that if AMD does decide to do this in a year it would probably be 3 maybe even 4 years before the new fab would be ramped up. It must be difficult to plan for these things given the long lead time and large invesment required.
