Tippet, had the same thought.

I think the ppt knows that they can not prevent a whole market meltdown by propping up everything, so they need to concentrate their efforts. Best way to do this is pick a giant that needs to go down badly, make a papa bear case for it, and then on Monday, abort the freefall as all eyes are focused on MSFT fate.

So my guess is that MSFT will gap down, and then, surprise, surprise, it will find some strength. The intent is to negate the message that PC sales are flat, and companies dependent on that sector will see decelerating growth soon.

Perhaps the ppt is coming to realize that they were created to facilitate a bubble... that they were nurturing a bear that will maul with abandon.
