Good post. I don't think some of new experts understand Roadrunner. This is what I mean. I keep hearing this: "AOL has Roadrunner and T has @Home and AOL is going to kick T's butt because they are the new blah content blah blah 800lb blub blab going to buy AT&T and fold Yahoo bleek flim splooow back the truck up because I sold at the top and load up to the moon and many splits flits spits chickyyellowfin."

Roadrunner is a brand. Not a company. Roadrunner is Media One and TimeWarner's McBroadband offering. When fools state that Roadrunner is gonna do anything they are embarrassing themselves. When T closes their purchase of Media One what do these people think they are going to do with the subs? I have a hunch. That would leave Roadrunner with TimeWarner. Brand name. Nothing more.

Roadrunner can't play broadband. They haven't invested in anything beyond some simple caching of narrowband Internet content. So when all the fighting is over and AOL/TWX gets down to running a business what will make sense.

T wants local telephony over cable everywhere. They don't have it. ???
AOL needs a broadband delivery platform. They don't have it. ???
AOL wants access to cable everywhere. They don't have it. ???

Where's Microsoft??? Broadband is coming and someone's gonna make a lot of money when it arrives.

Discussing this would be interesting. What do you say?
