One of 9984's more tantalizing unlisted prospects is Terabeam. Lucent recently invested approximately $400 million in an optical networking system with Terabeam in return for the exclusive manufacturing rights. Looking at a couple of recent skeptical press pieces posted to the SI Terabeam thread, it appears that this technology may not be as valuable as originally thought. Has anyone here seen a specific (or any) value assigned to the Terabeam investment in a published calculation of 9984's worth?
