When Jesus rode in on a colt into Jerusalem there was adoration and praise for the Son. One week later they were crying "crucify him!" Were these Jews the same ones who one week earlier were giving him acclaim as the Son of God? Now they were saying, if he is the Son, let it be on our heads and on our children. "Crucify Him!" This day in time will forever be to me an example of his abandonment and the full realization of his royal blood and majesty when on the cross he pleaded with God to forgive them. Who but the Christ could breath these words in spite of their cruelty and rejection of Him. How lonely he must have felt. Not even the physical pain could match the rejection that he felt at this moment. Christ, forgive us even as we continue to reject each other. You see, we have had 2000 years of practice at hurting you and our neighbors. Who is your neighbor? Santiago
