Yes, it is a nice read. A long time back a tiny Texas company called Cyrix utilized this math to their advantage by integrating memory controller into the CPU to make a 486 class core perform like a 586 class core. Alas, for CYRX longs, the core wouldn't scale in MHz!

Forunately for AMD longs, Athlon scales.

Now, an interesting question (for me at least): Who will debut a mass market part with memory interface embedded into the CPU? What time frame? What will that memory interface be?
