And if high end UltraSparc III systems were appearing now, they most certainly would "dazzle" . But it appears we may not see them for perhaps another 10 months. By then, I would not be so sure. Silicon technology is improving very fast - far faster than Sun's apparent ability to implement it. The ONLY way that the competition could get back into the game would be for a delay like this. Sun is leaving a door open for IBM, HP, and the Wintel vendors. What it will ultimately mean, we'll have to wait and see.
