Cap'n Jack - MSFT has been seeing decay in the commercial PC segment for much of 1999. The earnings statements were no surprise to me. The pollyannas on this thread evidently don't actually pay much attention to MSFT's business - reminds me of the DELLheads, who also don't much understand what business DELL is in, or what their prospects are.

The notion that MSFT is somehow sandbagging goes against everything that I see happening on the market. I think that Conners is just a little more pragmatic about guidance, and is calling it like he sees it.
