Hi Jill: I wish no one here ill will. I hope they all make a ton of money in whatever investment they're in. I made a nice chunk of change on QCOM & JDSU. I actually bought and sold JDSU 3 times within the past year and each time made some serious dough. There's nothing wrong with that and nothing wrong with pulling chips off the table when one feels things are not right with the market environment. There are many here who want to stay the course and wait for the long-term opportunity QCOM may present. Everyone has their own style of investing. I don't have a crystal ball knowing which way the market is going - no one does. I look at the charts, get a feel for the market, react with my gut, and rightly or wrongly go with it. I've been wrong on many occasions. But I've been investing for over 25 years now and I'm still around playing the game. I retired at 48 years old - not bad. There are many I know who have gotten burned at the stake over the years because they threw caution to the wind. They will learn that the markets giveth and taketh away. Yeah, they're a little concerned about their investment in QCOM right now - maybe a little scared as you say. If Naz corrects further and QCOM heads down into price areas I discussed as possibilities, they'll have brown undies as well. But that's their investment style and I am NOT one to tell anyone how to invest their money. I just voice my opinions over here like everyone else and I know everyone has an opinion like everyone has an a$$-hole. I've been told that. If you notice, it's the die-hard oldtimers on this thread who are reacting the most calling what I have to say FUD. I read the tea leaves, turn over the tarot cards, and react. It is my most humble opinion that excellent traders will make out like bandits and holders will suffer additional losses over the next 6 months and the losses could be quite significant. I choose not to participate as a holder of very much in this environment. If I'm holding, and this is my style, I want to feel somewhat confident about continuous upward moves in the market. All I see currently is distribution into the rallies. Therefore, I'm not so confident. There are others who want to ride it out. That's their style. When I feel the market stabilizes I will jump in again with both feet, even if the market stabilizes at higher levels from Thursday's close. I don't see that happening. I see volatile 2-way action for the foreseeable future this year until the 4th quarter. Being a real estate investor who funds commercial land development in Las Vegas, I see a real estate bubble occurring in home prices. I'm sure the Fed sees this as well. Go try to buy a home in S. California today, for example. I bought a home down there 2 years ago in Carlsbad and its gone up $100K per year. That's unsustainable. The average home price in Las Vegas is rising over 10%/year. The luxury areas here are rising much more dramatically than that. My son buys land for KBH in Las Vegas. They told the sales agents to try to slow down sales in that they can't keep up with demand and can't find workers to build them. So they are raising prices almost every 1-2 months. That's never happened in the 28 years I've lived here. You think the Fed doesn't realize this. So I'm concerned and cautious and very long cash awaiting opportunities IF they come to be. I hold rather small positions for me on some tech names that I consider to have reasonable valuations and I could very well be burned on those over the coming 6 months. Time will tell. I wish you the best in your investment endeavors.
