<< But they took it out on a little boy, Robert, the six-year-old son of another man. >>

Absolutely wrong. When Elian was taken from the ocean, he was traumatized by three days in the ocean, without food or water, and from watching his mother and many others die.

Who stepped up to take care of Elian? His father? The Cuban government? The U.S. government?

The Cuban Exile Community opened their homes and their arms to this little boy and nursed him back to health. While they were caring for him, lovingly, Castro blew the situation up into an international incident, putting Elian and his loving extended family right in the middle. Castro intentionally stopped Elian's father, Juan, from going to his son, sooner, in order to play Elian's tragic ordeal for political gain.

And, many people in this country fell for Castro's scheme, hook, line and sinker!
