maybe i'm going to the wrong place and downloading the wrong file, but it works for me the way i described. i followed the link you provided callwave.com , then went to the download site

the instructions there say to save it to your desktop (which is just as valid for checking with av prior to install). however, upon clicking 'here', the installation began on my hd and was soon complete. i then read the name of the downloaded file ('iamsetup.exe') and went to file manager to find it. it was right there under that name and i did as i told you, which is to right-click and select 'scan with norton av'. btw, the file i downloaded was clean.

i never encountered the "run program from remote location" instruction you referenced.

so it does work.
