Don, At Present RDRAM is considerably more expensive than SDRAM and DDR DRAM. While Rambus may have greater scalability to adapt to the faster microprocessors to come, the price will have to become more competitive. At the present time, there is no rational reason to put DRDRAM on a motherboard. It is much more expensive, and the average latency of i820/DRDRAM systems is considerably longer than SDRAM systems. The only thing that keeps DRDRAM alive in computers, is an inexplicable insistence by Intel, combined with a mistaken impression that it provides better benchmark performance than SDRAM. DRDRAM will have a substantial niche in the network processor business, but it will be interesting to see how much longer the Intel Emperor's New Clothes can remain hidden. Scumbria
