I categorize cable and phone equipment stocks together as telecom equipment. I was also grouping wiring and cabling stocks, wireless/cellular, comm services, telephony software, and clecs under the telecom sector.

I thought you were referring to stocks that have held up. Those stocks you mention are in the process of correcting. Since you referred to the coming dip, I assumed you implied they weren't dipping yet. They're still in downtrends as are most of the stocks in that area, except for a handful.
