LPTHA vs JDS Uniphase. I've been studying the business aspects of these two companies, but my understanding of the terminology and the makeup of complex fiber optic networks is still as yet limited. Can someone give me a quicky sketch of on what frontiers these two companies compete with each other, and where they might compliment each other. My broker says go Unisphase, a physicist friend of mine, more familiar with the science behind this stuff, says go LPTHA. I have been slogging my way through all 800 some odd posts (some quite informative) and following and reading every link on I can find on the subject, but a quick sketch (if one is possible) would help. Any response would be sincerely appreciated.
