My daughter is more likely to tell on herself than her next in-line brother.....but they all have their moments.

Are her bunny and blanket security type sleeping things?? I would hesitate to take away something like that, unless of course the mistake was directly related to that.

And if you don't mind my saying so, I would have to agree with your wife on the Candy issue. Ask yourself, when your daughter would have thought about not getting any candy for Easter, would she remember the Lie, or would the lie be over shawdowed by the "Easter, she got no candy"
How old is your daughter??? does she realize it is you that puts the candy in her basket???? Personally I would have had to keep the discipline totally separated from the celebration of Easter.....(what a great time for a lesson in forgiveness!!!)

IMHO, yet keeping in mind there are tons of variables I don't know regarding this circumstance
