RE: I know that the idea that direct is the winning strategy and that retail is history is a basic tenant of the Church of DELL... but the market data does not happen to support that notion for the consumer space. DELL's ability to steal market share is all that really counts...The corporate world is their forte and being direct with this segment of the market place has taken them from #18 to #2 in ten years...Soon to be #1..Every market they have entered they have become #1 or #2...Watch them pass CPQ in servers ...
