For once I agree with you. The repubs, only after it is too late to save Elian, come out of the closet. If they really believed the stuff they are mouthing now about the "rule of law," they would have defended Elian before it was too late to save him from Cuba. Now, when they will take no heat, they are only figures of fun.

The ONLY way the repubs can still save Elian from Cuba is to give him residency. Residency will remove Elian from Justice dept and INS jurisdiction and place him in a family court where the only issue is Elian. But the repubs wont because the repubs are charlatans.
