re Elon:
I think the problem really is (aside from the price, which of course is alarming if you bought it twice as high, but then almost all our stocks are off 50%), that we've just gotten the annual numbers.
I have to review the Fools site on reading a balance sheet but it looks like revenues were up from 1997 ($28,302) to 1998 (32,201) to 1999 (39.7) a little over 20%. Not bad but not good enough for a young growing company.
They are still losing money, although losing less (1997 $8.214) 1998 (5,851) 1999 (3907).
Still a loss per share though much less 1997 32C, 1998 20C and 1999 12C.
OTOH]"The protocol underlying LONWORKS networks was adopted as a control networking standard by the American National Standards Institute and as a standard for train communications by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers." was one of the milestones this last year.
And anyway, can't you tell how testy and grouchy we've all been, even about the already-accepted Gorillas?
We're better than the other threads emotionally, but still probably not calm enough, considering....
And I'm no model for what we ought to be saying.
