Of course the Cuban Americans are Republicans. Most people with a true appreciation of freedom are. But if you don't think this kid is a pawn for the Democrats as well, I would be very surprised at you Big Dog. There is no telling WHAT has gone on in the past couple of weeks with all of the media attention focused on Elian Gonzales. Either a nice arms deal with Russia, the Chinese getting a little bit closer to taking over Taiwan, God only knows what. And what better way to cover it up than to churn all the media attention you can to an innocent little boy who has won the public's heart. Truth is, had this kid been 5 years older, this wouldn't BE news. I don't believe for one second that Janet Reno acted first and then advised the president later. SHE takes orders from HIM, not the other way around. Truthfully, I don't know how I feel about it. My gut instinct is that he should stay. But I can certainly understand the Dad wanting his kid back. (IF he is sincere) Complacency and trust in the government is a dangerous thing. Best Regards to you, Binder
