Jim, The articles points out the problems facing this chipset It does point out the political problems facing the chipset. It also says : What is interesting is the potential performance of PC266 SDRAM. Memory bandwidth is probably the single biggest bottleneck for computer gaming as we move into the future of high polygon counts, huge fill rates and high-resolution titles. Even if this particular chipset never sees the light of day on motherboards using Intel CPUs, imagine a 1GHz Athlon system with PC266 DDR SDRAM and AGP 4x - especially an Athlon with an embedded L2 cache running at the full speed of the CPU.
