I think 99% of the people who believe the boy should be left in the US would have not have taken that position if it had been the father who drowned and the mom was still back in Cuba.

I believe they should have taken the kid back months ago, as there was nothing to negotiate in my view, and the longer the delay, the worse off for the boy. While the actions of those in Miami gave you the idea only they had his long term interests at heart, it indicated me that fundamentally, they had only their own interests at heart.
