Tom,since you and Ray are pretty much experts, and I am just a book read fiber head,I was wondering what you thought of HFC systems, and MPEG and SDV over HFC. I understand that HFC is a hybrid system, the eventually when the technology comes out we can someday in the future institute and All Optical network. What speeds do you envision over HFC in a practical sense? Can an HFC systems overcome the shared bandwidth problem,by fiber amplifiers? What do you think of cached systems like @Hme,is the slowness of some websites due to the structure of the HFC systems, and number of people on the node,or due to the access point to the website,it may be only a T-1? Are externally modulated, continous lasers that much more dependable than a less expensive linear laser? Are the upstream coaxial cables causing problems with the system network, causing distortion and interference problems? What do you think will happen with the rapid build-out of TWX's Road Runner systems, are they expenading too rapidly? TWX and Rogers in Canada are the most aggressive HFC proponents,do you believe that overseas HFC systems are being built more rapidly?
