A shameless example of analyst touts is the Weekly Web Report from internetstocks.com. Also a great source for short ideas. They are still putting Buy recs on crappy E-tailers and extolling companies that "beat" estimates with a -.35 loss instead of their -.38 estimate. No mention ever that the whole E-tail sector was headed for the toilet. At least buy-side analysts actually end up owning the stocks they tout. The sell-side whores can tout anything as long as their managers like the result - then walk away to the next recent IPO hype job.
