William Hunt: Thanks. This is a significant investment as a straw in the wind even more than in itself.

This investment puts more meat on the bones of the major direction in which the Q is moving - strengthening the Q's position at the wireless / internet nexus.

Dr J mentioned during the cc that the data lead the Q has would give the Q a lead and major advantage in wireless connections to the internet.

Here the Q's Executive Vice President (Dr Paul J.) is spelling out one string to that bow.

"`QUALCOMM is focused on the convergence of CDMA and the Internet. Through this investment,
QUALCOMM's core wireless and Internet competencies can be combined with the innovative technologies,
business models and revenue streams that NetZero has developed to drive wireless Internet adoption,' said Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, executive vice president of QUALCOMM. ``QUALCOMM will immediately benefit from NetZero's distribution of QUALCOMM's Eudora as its preferred e-mail client software solution.'"

This is an area of potential huge growth for the Q and again shows why the Q's lead (using 1XRTT and HDR) in data is so significant as a major leg up in the next tornado - the wireless / internet nexus.

Nokia is especially vulnerable here. GPRS simply is not real competition in this area.

All just my observations of course.

Best.

Chaz

PS Note: This move also shows another major advantage the Q has - money available for strategic investments to advance Dr J's vision. The Q will be generating huge cash flow as far as the eye can see. First use will be for internal R&D, but there will be plently left over for this kind of strategic move. And the beauty is that it will carefully targeted on two major fronts - advancing CDMA worldwide, and strengthening the wireless (CDMA) /internet nexus to take advantage of the Q's significant lead in rapid data transmission - especially HDR.
