chic, yes, exercising the Jul45 now to get an earlier LT gain makes sense to me. Of course with the caveat that the LT gain could disappear quickly if 1)Willy lives up to its hype, and 2)it arrives before Mustang and 1.5G TBird.

And you can always sell covered calls as long as they are not "in the money" without disturbing your holding period for LT gains.
