I wrote a paper in college in 1972 on how "communication as an alternative to violence" should be infused in the social studies curriculum for elementary students. I got an "A" even though I ditched classes practically the whole semester. I recycled that paper through two other courses with success. I still think it has a place in education. However, my rose colored glasses have faded a bit. I now see that very good people with very good messages and excellent communication have died at the hands of very bad people throughout history. Sometimes you simply have to take a stand against injustice until it is defeated or you die.
