Branding isn't selling anything. It's creating a brand or image for a company. It's not product sales. They're sold out to OEMs but they're still available at retailers. People need to start asking for Athlons. Most people out there have no idea what an Athlon is or even AMD.

They should take advantage of the fact that they're in the news these days. If they don't, they won't be in the news that long. Right now, they're only filling a supply void. That void might not be there in a few months. And even if it is, they'll still only be filling a void. Why do you think Dell hasn't gone to AMD? Why do you think no major OEMs use AMD in their business lines? No one asks for them. No one reads JC's or The Register or Silicon Investor except for us, and we're a VERY VERY small percentage of the population.

Ask anyone of your "regular" friends what they would rather have, an AMD or an Intel powered Home PC.
