I. GIA SAYS NEW LASER TREATMENT LEAVES NO SURFACE HOLE
The GIA recently discovered a new laser drilling treatment for diamonds that
avoids drilling a surface hole by using heat to bring cleavage to the surface of
the diamond, allowing acid to penetrate to the dark areas of the stone. "At first
