And they have a token competitor, AMD, who does just well enough to be taken seriously. Even makes a profit now and then. CSCO has a non-token competitor: Lucent. That is going to be one hell of a battle. CSCO won't have to worry about the DOJ until they've done to Lucent what MSFT did to Netscape. That may happen, but it'll take till 2010. AOL. Hmmmmm...... What, exactly, do they have a monopoly in? The government doesn't have the resources or incentive to mount antitrust cases against companies the size of AT&T or Microsoft, more often than once a decade. Ballmer needs to shut up. PR, and the delicate handling of government regulators, is not his strong suit. MSFT lost 62B in market cap today.
