Bob,
Yes, I agree it <<Works great, if you do it right.>>
Here is an idea that even Ron Reece might agree with:
If ... grocery stores double coupons are ... <<Much better return than gold stocks>> then if the following is also true ... grocery stores double coupons are ... <<Much better return than gold>> then ... grocery stores double coupons are ... a better Store of Value than Gold.
<<coupons out of the shared coupon bin in the local library>>
I noticed this at my local library and was dumbfounded to find $1 off ice cream coupons there, which leads to my little confession, I do use them selectively on 1/2 gallons of Friendly & Edys ice cream, especially when it a store Buy 1 Get 1 Free.
<<My record so far is about $25 worth of groceries for 7 cents>>
ok, but what did you do with that $2.99 can of pickled chicken feet that cost you 2 cents ?
Boiled I have eated them by the dozen, and yes the "toenails" were still attached.
It what happens when you live on a farm and rather than go to the food market and only have access to the parts ok'ed by society, you get everthing upfront and use it all, the chicken, except for the head, as the barn cats got them, and to them they were to use a human phrase, golden.
[Edit]
ok, complete honestly here, there was one part of the chicken I refused to eat, and it was eat'able, but I and Dad refused, but Mom like it.
The part, in Polish, sounds like "du-pa".
