I wonder what the real liklihood is that Q et Consortium would be awarded spectrum? Perhaps they think they can strong arm the Japanese into opening their market" an entirely U.S. group", damned aggressive. Would they be taking DDI's license? SO strange after Kyocera buys the handset division.And I wonder what the Koreans think of this move?

This story continues to baffle me, it's just too weird, which is why it's really disturbing. NTT will never switch unless the technology turns out to be a total flop, which I doubt very much. We know already that having the biggest,fattest, fastest is only part of the story, so being a year ahead won't do it either.

DDI said flat out that roaming and economies of scale are the main consideration for them. How is QCOM's spectrum bid going to alleviate these concerns?

Whole thing reeks of desperation...0-(
