Dave,

If AMD was selling potato chips, I would concede that you are right. But in this industry, there is an enormous amount of free press. There are a lot of people who follow the industry as a matter of profession or just a hobby.

AMD marketing may add a little to the market perception by spending millions, but the free press is worth 100s of millions, and Intel's marketing budget is billions of dollars.
