"WI" trading is perfectly legit...you might even have noticed an MO or an AOL go by on the ticker with a subscripted "wi" added on. Don't see any reason why they can't do that with Softbank (all legal afaik), except that the low volumes might mean they have no real incentive to offer you the convenience intra-house, and even less so inter-house. Somebody mumble vaguely about not being responsible for margin calls and holding them responsible for potential losses and you should have them finding all the right incentives in a hurry....???

As for who gets what - if today was the 'record' date, whoever owned them today will get the extra shares on the 'pay out' date. Buy them tomorrow and you're past the record date and you pay the post-split price for the quantity you want.

As always, caveat blahblah...
I presume this is just an academic question on your part? No selling on the agenda etc...??
