I think you may be wrong.

What you stated was the original plan IMHO.

But now I think they are trying to dump the old Athlons first.

And spitfires may well be in 600-850Mhz range at start.

And thumperturds will fly at 900 - 1.1Ghz.

This will really cause Intel to duffer as an 800Mhz spitfire will likely outperform a PIII 800.
